Are your products genuine, and do they come with a warranty?

Yes. DataTag is an authorised reseller of the brands we sell, and products come with a 1-year manufacturer / brand warranty.

Can I get a quotation, volume pricing or a product demo?

Can you supply labels in a custom size?

Yes. Send us the label size, material, core size, quantity and your printer model on WhatsApp and we will quote for a custom label roll.

What is the difference between direct thermal and thermal transfer labels?

Direct thermal labels have a heat-sensitive coating and print without a ribbon. They are ideal for short-life uses such as shipping labels and receipts, but fade over time and with heat or sunlight. Thermal transfer labels need a ribbon; the printer melts ink from the ribbon onto the label, giving a durable print suited to product, asset and long-life labels.

Which ribbon should I use: wax, wax-resin or resin?

Wax ribbons are the economical choice for paper labels (shipping, retail and shelf labels). Wax-resin ribbons give better smudge and scratch resistance on coated paper and some synthetic labels. Resin ribbons give the most durable print on synthetic labels such as polyester and polypropylene, for chemical, heat or outdoor exposure.

How do I choose the right ribbon width and length?

The ribbon should be slightly wider than the label so the whole printed area is covered. The maximum length and core size depend on your printer model, so tell us the printer model and label width and we will confirm the right ribbon.

What does YMCKO mean on an ID card ribbon?

YMCKO stands for Yellow, Magenta, Cyan, Black (K) and Overlay (O). The Y, M and C panels print full-colour images, the K panel prints sharp black text and barcodes, and the O panel adds a clear protective layer. Half-panel ribbons print colour on part of the card only, giving more prints per roll.

Do you sell printers, scanners and POS machines as well as consumables?

Yes. Alongside labels and ribbons we supply barcode printers, receipt printers, ID card printers, mobile computers, barcode scanners, POS machines, label printing scales and time attendance devices.
